Anonymous asked: What makes you laugh?
…I don’t think there is anything that has made me genuinely laugh for a long time. I had worked on a day-to-day basis, leaving little time for entertainment. If you were tasked with tracking down some of the world’s worst criminals each day, you wouldn’t find the time to laugh, either.
However, some of my client’s assumptions of my appearance were endlessly amusing, if only for how outlandish they were,

Or how much they differ from my actual appearance.

Anonymous asked: L, did you see your mother in Heaven yet? Or your father? Do you have any memory of them from your childhood?
Put bluntly, I have no memories of my parents whatsoever. I had been raised an orphan ever since my mind grew the capacity to hold memories, so I was only in my parents’ possession for a year at the most.
Now, I still have yet to meet them. Perhaps they are still alive somewhere in the world, but I simply don’t care much for them. My mother and father brought me into this world, and for that I am eternally grateful. However, I grew up and became my own being without them in my lives, so I never grew an attachment to them, let alone call them my true parental figures. (That honour goes to Watari.)
Perhaps one day I will inquire with the Gatekeeper about my parents out of curiosity, but for now meeting them is not of much importance to me.

Anonymous asked: its MystrixTH, my question for you is, do you have a favorite band/musician. also what's your favorite kind of sweets
I have never had enough time to appreciate music, let alone formulate my opinions on musical artists. That said, I do enjoy songs and soundtracks that have a thoughtful depth to them, something that would provoke thought just by listening. This track is a particularly good example. (And, curiously enough, it seems to be dedicated to me…)
Sweets are all the same to me - they satisfy my hunger and ever-growing sweet tooth. I will consume any sort of candy or sweet fruits I find without much thought. Although, I regularly have lollipops, chocolate bars, cakes, hard candies, and ice cream, because they are so common.

ask-misamisa asked: Oh ! Foud you ! ^o^ How are you going after all this time ? I am actually in the MU searching for Light ! ♥ It's very scary and dark :c
I am quite fine to see you still exist in some form, Amane. Truly, you did not deserve such a horrible fate.
I imagine MU is a haunting place, but Light seems to have found a quiet repose somewhere. I wish you the best of luck in finding him.
sparkling--c0nspiracy asked: L, how do you get your hair so epicly awesome?
Simple. I simply neglected to sleep for the past… many years.
However, I wouldn’t recommend you try to imitate my hairstyle this way. Most likely, you wouldn’t live to see the results.

iamllawliet asked: If you were truly the illustrious L, you would never give up your personal information so loosely. There are tons of L's out here, now to determine the correct one? That's the true mystery. The real L may not even be on this social networking site.
Your words are true. Try as I might, it would be impossible for me to prove that I am, without doubt, the true L Lawliet.
However, one would only need to read over my almost year’s worth of answers on this blog. The content itself is all you would need to judge my credibility.
Now, let us see what you have done to prove your identity, Mr. Lawliet.

thereverieofcrimson asked: Was there ever a time when you simply took the most challenging cases out of pride? Then, gradually, did you begin to care?
I was always passionate about justice and righteousness - they were the reason why I became interested in my field in the first place.
However, you would be right in saying that I did take larger cases out of pride. In order to gain trust and reputation in the crime field, especially as a private detective, it is essential to prove that you can tackle large-scale crises. I did take pursuing the criminal seriously in those cases, but earning myself reputation was an ulterior motive.
This eventually worked in my favour as I propelled to the title of Top Detective in only my first year and a half. The cases I took from then on struck me more personally as I began seeing the importance of my role to the world.
In truth, however… I still hand-picked the cases out of a combination of interest and pride. Yes, I may begin to see the severity of incident once my investigation begins, but I saw the case selection as a menu of puzzles ranging in difficulty, whose purpose was to drive away my boredom. In fact, had I not suspected there being supernatural elements involved in the Kira case, I may not have taken it as early as I did.
